Bob Johnson is president - Northeast Region for Sprint Nextel Corporation with responsibilities for wireless and wire-line profitability across all customer segments. He last held the position of senior vice president of Consumer Sales & Distribution for Sprint Corporation. Prior to the merger that created Sprint Nextel, Mr. Johnson was senior vice president - National Field Operations for Nextel Communications, Inc., with responsibility for all sales and distribution. These channels included direct, indirect, public sector, national retail, web, telesales, and support operations. Mr. Johnson joined Nextel In 1998 as president of the Mid-Atlantic Area.

Before joining Nextel, Mr. Johnson worked in executive positions at Bell Atlantic Mobile (now Verizon) for 16 years. He last held the position of region president of the company's PrimeCo Personal Communications Joint Venture. Through out his career, he has held various roles ranging from executive director of National Sales and Operations to the position of EVP/COO of the company's Canadian Joint Venture.

Mr. Johnson received a BS in Business from the University of Maryland. He currently serves as chairman of the board of the University's Robert H. Smith School of Business. Other board positions include Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Washington Redskins' Leadership Council.
